I have the very same soundcard, and it's playing Massive Attack in 24 bits of sweet High Fidelity audio as i type these words.
Have you made sure to set Max Blocksize to 16 and Min Blocksize to 4 in Winamps Wave_Out configuration dialog? (as specified on the Mad homepage)
