[mad-user] CoolPlayer to use the MAD decoder?

Niek and I have been in contact with each other about this possibility. I
originally suggested the idea to him back in August when he was considering
mpg123, and I last heard from Niek yesterday.

It seems the only thing holding him back is the licensing terms. To
incorporate MAD into CoolPlayer would require him to release the source for
CoolPlayer under the GPL, something he is not ready to do. Making an exception
to the licensing terms is not something I am ready to do, so we have yet to
resolve the stalemate.

I'd like to see it happen, but I can't predict whether it will.
